Magazine:

An exclusive speciality of the GILDE 66-17 MST 3D is the magazine which can be removed at all times – even in the middle of a film – after being closed light-tight via catches on the outside. This makes it possible to monitor the exact composition of a picture through the rear diffusing screen. The light-tight magazine shutter is secured with a permanent magnet. The extra catches usually found on other cameras are not necessary.

Shift adjustment:

The shift possibilities of this camera frequently push the large negative lenses available on the world markets to their limits. When the camera is positioned horizontally (landscape format), each of the five formats can be shifted upwards or downwards. When the camera is positioned vertically (portrait format), a shift plate is used (focal lengths : 72, 90, 110, 120, 135 and 150mm) to allow a shift of 35mm upwards; this plate can be swivelled 1800 to allow a shift of 35mm downwards. All formats can be shifted in this manner with the exception of 6x6 – for technical reasons this cannot exceed 28mm. With this camera it is also possible to re-position smaller formats such as 6x6, 6x9 and 6x12 without using the shift plate.

Tilt function:

When the camera is positioned horizontally (landscape format), the depth of definition – Scheimpflug – can be extended by swivelling the optical axis 100 upwards or downwards. This can be checked through the rear diffusing screen. When the precise angle of tilt has been found, it can be fixed by means of a locking lever. The zero position is secured via a ball catch and additional screw-in locking device.

Technical specifications:

Mu panorama camera for 120 film with a selection of five formats: 6x6 cm, 6x9 cm, 6x1 2 cm, 6x14 cm and 6xl7cm. Formats can be selected in the middle of a film without the need for changing the magazine. Width: 325mm. Height, in. viewfinderfittings: 160 mm Depth: 75mm Weight: housing without lens 2,900 g.

All parts made from aluminium blocks, produced on CNC milling machines.

Shift adjustment: Horizontal for all enses upwards and downwards (exceptf=35 mm), 25 mm maximum, verticaliy uo to 35 mm via shift board (f=72mm to F=1 50 mm). Even without the shift board certain formats can be re pos:tioned, eg. 6x6 up to 28 mm, 6x9 up to 42mm and 6x12 up to 28 mm.

Tilt function: When the camera is positioned horizontaliy the iens can be tifted 100 to either side in order to extend the deoth of field according to Scheimpflug.

The film magazine can be removed at all times - even in the m:ddle of a film - to aiiow precise control of the picture via the ground glass back.

A large-dimension platen ensures that the film is uniformly ard precisely fat.

The film is transported by means of a non-slip film transport wheel, free-running to prevent the film from being wound back ard to guarantee absoiutely precise transport throughout the whoie length of the film. Transport can be checked via an inspect:on glass in the rear removable panel of the magazine - the numbers on the cacking paper of the 120 roll f:lm can easily be seen.

An electronic counter is now available as an optional extra - this makes the use of 220 films possible.

A motor drive is also available for use with the electronic counter. The core of this motor drive is a finely engineered ron-free motor made in Switzerland. The transport speed for format 6x17 5 approx. 21/2 seconds. Even faster for smaller °ormats. The motor can be installed rapidly and simPly by meers of a iarge knuried screw. A re-chargeable 7.2 volt battery located in the gr:p provides the power.

Viewfinder: The viewfinder is composed of two parts, the optical viewfinöer and the frame. Two bubble levels are rnirrored onto the optical viewfinder to aid horizontal or vert:cal positioning. The viewfinder frame allows all focal iengths to be set, all formats to be used and shifts to be simuiatea.

Additional accessories

A digital rear - latest generation - is being developed at the moment in preparation.

Interchangeable lenses: All the lenses for large format cameras which are available in the world can be adapted tor shutter 0., also tor shutters 1 and 3 provided the diameter of the rear Jens does not exceed 61 mm.

A special service: GILDE offers to adapt existing lenses to the GILDE camera, provided they fit the above mentioned requirements. At the same time, a minor modification of the bottom lens board can be carried out to allow these lenses to continue to be used with the original cameras. Slogan: A set of lenses for a variety of cameras - GILDE makes it feasible.

Stereo photography: Stereo blocks are available tor 58 mm, (possibly 47 mm), 65 mm, 75 mm, 90 mm, 135 mm and 1 50 mm focal lengths. The stereo base is

75 mm, arperture and shutter release are mechanically coupled, as is the distance setting. The newly developed Synchro 3D ensures absolutely perfect synchronisation of shutter release at all speeds up to 1/500 sec. The stereo block can be shifted 15 mm upwards and downwards. For focal lengths of 75 mm and more, one of the two lenses can be centred to allow mono-photographs to be taken with the 3D block.

Compendium beliows: SeIf-locking bellows, filter size l7Oxl3Omm. The insert mask can be shifted 20 mm, magnet holder aliows shift of the filter holder and moving lt into any direction.

Rear lens clip-on filter: All filters are also available as rear lens clip-on filters - they are considerabiy less expensive than the wide-diameter front ]enses. These are particularly useful for black and white photography.

Macro extension tubes: These are simiiar to the intermediate rings used for SLR 24 x 36 mm cameras and can be extended at will to provide very long focai iengths es weil as for 1:1 macro photography.
